The School of Business broke ground on its new facility, Duquès Hall, on October 17, 2002. The $50 million project is the physical foundation for the School's future and a new home for the Full-Time MBA in 2006.
Located at the corner of 22nd and G Streets, the new complex brings all of the School's academic and research units under one roof encompassing 165,000 square feet
and features cutting edge technologies.
Classrooms
Duques Hall, a 167,000 Square-foot addtion to Funger Hall features 27 state-of-the-art classrooms, 3 computer classrooms, and presentation rooms that seat 1056 students. All new high-tech classrooms include projector screens, ceiling mounted overhead projectors, TV/VCR/DVD, instructor complex, voice amplification, program amplification, controls built into lectern, document cameras, slide converters, and wireless microphones. Duques Hall features a Capital Markets Room that provides software and financial information systems for financial modeling, trading, real-time quotes, and use of proprietary software for financial modeling, trading, and portfolio management in addition to a Behavioral Lab that will be used to conduct focus groups and provide marketing and sales instruction.
Breakout Rooms
Duques Hall features 19 breakout rooms for students to work on team projects, prepare for presentations and study. Each room features a confrerence table, executive chairs and white board.
Labs
Duques Hall features 3 computer labs as well as a Capital Markets Room that provides software and financial information systems for financial modeling, trading, real-time quotes, and use of proprieta. These labs are used may be used for classes or by individuals. Students also have access to computers in the hallways to check email, print documents etc. A Behavioral Lab is used to conduct focus groups and provide marketing and sales instruction.
